In February 2017, we participated in the  Ontario Council for International Cooperation‘s Global Citizenship Forum 2017.

The goal of the Forum was to bring together leaders, practitioners and issue-specific experts from Canadian and international civil society organizations, Ontario-based colleges and universities, Diaspora, Indigenous, and youth communities, government, and the private sector to discuss, problem solve, and seek new ways of working together to transform our world through the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Thursica Kovinthan, one of our volunteers,  participated in the Forum and presented a poster, Engaging Diaspora Communities in Post-War Sri Lanka showcasing our unique framework for diaspora engagement as well as initiated a number of conversations about strategic partnerships with a number of other Canadian diaspora groups engaged in sustainable development in other countries abroad.

The poster was awarded 2nd place at the Forum.
